Sandy Springs considering new fire station

The City of Sandy Springs is considering building a new fire station, and is encouraging members of the public to attend a meeting to discuss the issue. The new station would be located in the northern end of the city, in the area known as the Panhandle. The city wants to build the new station in order to enhance fire service in that section of the community.

Local fire department to upgrade fleet

The chief of the Sandy Springs Fire Rescue Department, Keith Sanders, wants to buy five new vehicles to increase the departments fleet. Newer vehicles are lighter and smaller than the ones currently in use, and should save the city money.
