Annual meeting of Chemours scheduled for Wilmington

March 22, 2017 by

Chemours, a chemical company based in Wilmington, has announced plans to hold its annual meeting in the city later this spring.

The meeting will be at the Westin Hotel on Shipyard Drive, in the Caesar Rodney Ballroom, and anyone who had stock in Chemours by February 28, 2017, is encouraged to attend.

At the meeting, shareholders will be asked to vote on eight directors, to approve compensation for Chemours’ executives, to approve PricewaterhouseCoopers as Chemours’ accounting firm, to approve the incentive and equity plan for 2017m to approve the company’s employee stock purchase plan, and to vote on a stockholder proposal about a report on executive compensation. If there is other business brought up, it will also be discussed.

Shareholders who cannot attend but would like to vote may send in their proxy by mail, internet, or phone prior to the meeting.

This is the second annual meeting since Chemours became an independent entity. Last year, the company held its meeting in Philadelphia, at the Palomar Hotel. Chemours was spun off from DuPont in 2015, and makes so-called ‘performance chemicals’ such as fluoroproducts like refrigerants, and various acids.

The meeting is scheduled for April 26, starting at 10:00 am. Bompanies like this can benefit if officials work with a postcard printing company to create cards for mailing to stockholders, announcing the meeting.
