Happy birthday Cheyenne’s Boy Scout Troop 101

September 21, 2017 by

Past and present members and leaders of Cheyenne’s Boy Scouts Troop 101 will be coming together for a special celebration that will mark its centennial plus one.

The event will kick off with a free show that will showcase the history of the troop and scouting in general. It will also highlight its current activities and look forward to the future. Displays will be set up, including one of a scouting campsite, and there will be knot boards and a variety of interactive, hands-on displays for the attendees to explore. Document scanning can be used to make copies of old photos and other delicate items for an event like this.

The evening portion of the celebration will give guests a chance to taste some of their favorite bites from their scouting days, including s’mores and other appetizers. After this, it will be time for a dinner, and the guests are invited to catch up and reminisce with old friends.

The event has been planned as a family friendly function, and all ages are welcome. Kids under the age of 12 will be admitted free of charge, while the older attendees are asked to pay $10 to help meet the cost of the meal.

This celebration of the past, present and future of Troop 101 will be held on October 14 in the Kiwanis Community House. More details have been made available on its listing.
