Chance to leave the car at home this weekend

The ‘Great Beer Hike’ is an Earth Day event that features Hand Truckin’ Amber Ale – a special draft beer edition brewed as a tribute to transporting beer without the need for vehicles.

People who volunteer for this event will move the beer 10 miles by foot to ensure that this is a zero-carbon event. This is a fundraising event with proceeds going to ‘Feet First’ – a not-for-profit that works to make all Washington communities safe to walk through.

With flyer printing sure to be carried out to promote the walk and its purpose, Feet First will take the proceeds from each glass sold and will no doubt put the money towards finding ways to ensure that the area is suitable for walkers, thus reducing pollution and improving local fitness and general health.

The streets in the communities allow people to discover the nature that surrounds them. This hike can only handle a limited number of people, so advanced registration is required. Donations at the event will gladly be accepted and put to good use.

Admission is free and everyone with Photo ID is welcome to join in. The Great Beer Hike will be happening this Sunday, April 21, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm starting at the Latona Pub located at 6423 Latona Avenue NE in Seattle, Washington, very near to Silverdale. To register, please visit the Seattle Great Beer Hike website or call the Latona Pub at 206-525-2238.
