Thursday event set to bang the drums

March 26, 2013 by

‘One World Taiko’ is part of the 2013 Cultural Outreach Series and is a prominent Japanese Drum Ensemble that is sure to have the audience’s hearts’ racing to the fierce pounding and quick tempo of the drums later this week.

This show features One World’s own stylish and creative rhythms, accompanied by interesting choreography. Brochure printing and poster printing have probably been used to promote this interesting program to people in this community and surrounding communities.

The contemporary ensemble features spirited drumming on a kind that has performed in Florida for four years at the Japan Pavilion, as part of Walt Disney World’s Epcot Center, but the group has also performed live throughout the United States, the Middle East, Europe, and Japan at various festivals, celebrations, and schools.

Music for this evening follows Japan’s ancient lively festival drumming using One World Taiko’s unique and creative arrangements, which contain a more modern spirit. In this performance, guests will see a large Japanese drum (odaiko), a medium size drum (chudaiko), a small rope drum (shimedaiko), a bamboo flute (shinobue), and a shamisen, which is a three string banjo-type instrument.

Admission to this event costs $12 for adults or $8 for seniors, youth, students, and teachers. The One World Taiko will be happening this Thursday, March 28, starting at 8:00 pm at the Bainbridge Performing Arts Theatre located at 200 Madison Avenue N on Bainbridge Island, Washington, just a short drive from Seattle. To purchase tickets or learn more, please visit the Bainbridge Performing Arts Theatre website or call the box office at 206-842-8569.
