Second chance to celebrate New Year in Seattle

January 12, 2019 by

Vietnamese Lunar New Year is a unique opportunity for Seattle residents to get an inside look at the Asian country’s culture, both contemporary and traditional. An upcoming event celebrates not only the lunar new year, but also what it is to be Vietnamese.

Feature a variety of attractions, guests will be able to enjoy hands-on activities suitable for all ages, as well as a live musical, martial arts demonstrations, and a traditional fashion show. Guests will also have a chance to try Vietnamese food from local vendors, and cooking demonstrations will be provided by Bun & Oc., a local restaurant, as part of what seeks to be an enjoyable event as well as an informative one.

There will also be a lively marketplace selling a variety of wares. Guests will have an opportunity to view a cultural village art display.

This particular celebration has been taking place for 19 years in Seattle alone, and it is likely many of the vendors and food places will have business cards on hand.

The event will be hosted at the Seattle Center. There are various parking options nearby, primarily in two garages: Mercer Street Garage and 5th Ave N. Garage. This event is free and open for the public to attend, and is currently scheduled to take place Saturday and Sunday, January 26 and 27.
