Go for the gardens

June 30, 2012 by

On Sunday, July 15, the West Seattle Garden Tour will take place, starting at West Seattle Residential Gardens in Seattle, Washington. Maps are provided with locations of the gardens prior to the tour at any of the ticket locations. The tours are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

This is a self-guided tour, with the garden location kept secret until the time of ticket purchase. At that time, all participants will receive a driving map with the garden locations.

All people participating in the garden tour must show their ticket book at each garden entrance. This year, there are nine great gardens and residents featured on this tour, including the former winner from the Pacific Northwest Gardens competition. There will also be a lecture at noon featuring Lorene Edwards Forkner.

Many of these gardens have unique and interesting floral, shrub, and water features, as well as some rather special pieces of art to inspire all who are on the tour with their own garden plans. Proceeds from this event will be used to support Seattle’s community gardens and several other non-profit organizations that promote education, arts, and horticulture. Flyer printing and poster printing may have been used to promote this colorful event and a master gardener will be available to answer questions.

Admission is $15 per person and children under 12 may attend for free. No pets or strollers will be allowed in the gardens. For more information about this event, please visit the West Seattle Garden Tour website or visit Brown Paper Tickets to purchase tickets.
