Gardens ready for restoration

July 17, 2013 by

Next month, residents of this community will have the opportunity to come out on a volunteer basis to help restore the Golden Gardens Park to its former glory.

The Golden Gardens Restoration is a chance for parents to spend quality time with their children and to encourage community involvement. Poster printing, flyer printing, and banner printing might have been used to encourage people in this community to join in and volunteer their time.

This event is open to all age groups and requires approximately 25 working volunteers. Guests who plan to attend should dress in layers, wear tough working pants or jeans, and bring long-sleeved shirts and raingear. Volunteers are reminded to bring a water bottle and snacks. All tools and gloves will be provided.

Those volunteering are asked to meet at the upper parking lot of the dog park, near the rest rooms. They will remove invasive weeds, litter, and will plant native species that will assist with restoring the natural ecosystem. Guests are reminded to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and sensible shoes. This event is sponsored by the Green Seattle Partnership.

There is no cost to come out and help the community. The Golden Gardens Restoration will be happening on Saturday, August 10, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Golden Gardens Park located at 8300 Golden Gardens Drive, NW in Seattle, Washington.
