The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is hosting the ‘Family Day: Food for Good’ event coming up in Seattle.

The aim of the event is to teach families how to grow, prepare, and enjoy healthier foods from their own community, or from other countries. Several community organizations will be on hand to talk about local and global foods and encourage people to try foods they have never had before. Guests will also have the chance to learn about volunteer opportunities in the city.

There will also be hands-on games and art projects for children, authors Katharine Pryor and Rick Swan will give a talk on gardening and the benefits of trying new food, samples of African food, and lots of other activities. There is also expected to be storytelling and musical entertainment provided during the day.

This event will likely attract lots of people in Seattle who wish to learn how to eat more healthily and gets hints about growing their own foods. Organizers may decide to invest in flyer printing services to help get the word out to those who will want to attend.

Food for Good is being held at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Visitor Center on April 5 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Admission is free. For more information about the event, call 206-709-3100.
