The ‘Art of the Elements: the Attraction of Opposites’ series is taking place this October and will be taught by local photographer Debbie Donaway. The series will consist of three different events, all of which are free to the public.

The first event is ‘Artist to Artist’ on October 5, from 8:00am – 11:30am. It consists of a walk and photo shoot down the Sammamish River, followed by a classroom session. Students will download their digital photographs and learn various techniques for improving their look.

Next will be a Demonstration of Digital Photography from 1:00pm – 3:00pm on October 20. All aspects of digital photography will be discussed during the afternoon.

The final event will be a Peer to Peer Tech Talk on October 25 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. It is aimed at intermediate to professional photographers who will share ideas and techniques. Students are asked to bring two photographs to discuss during the evening.

All three of the events are related to the Art of the Elements: the Attraction of Opposites exhibit, which began showing on September 12 and will be on display until the end of October.

This series, and the exhibit, might be of interest to those who work for Redmond graphic or printing companies who wish to improve their digital photography skills.

All three events will take place at the VALA Art Centre, and admission is free. To find out more about the series, visit the VALA Art Centre website.
