Weekend sing-along to come to Olympia

November 22, 2012 by

This weekend’s ‘Sing-a-long to the Sound of Music’ is similar to a karaoke event where a full screening of the movie, in glorious technicolor, will be previewed on the screen with scrolling subtitles that will enable the audience to participate and sing-a-long with every bit of Julie Andrews’s music. This evening event will start with a voice warm up lead by a special surprise guest.

The idea began in the United Kingdom in 1999 and has since become a major global phenomenon that has been shown at packed houses around the world. During the warm up for this evening sing-a-long, the host will unveil the “magic moments pack” that each guest receives free of charge. It is filled with an assortment of props to be used at various points throughout the screening. Guests are invited to show off their tailoring skills and arrive in costume for the famously fun fancy dress competition. This is a wonderful family event where everyone can participate and enjoy the fun.

Poster and flyer printing services may have been put into action to promote this very popular event to members of the local public. Tickets are $16 per adult, $14 for military, and $5 for youth.

The Sing-a-long Sound of Music will be happening this Sunday, November 25, starting at 5:00 pm at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts located in Olympia, Washington. For tickets, or further information, please visit the Centre’s website or call the box office.
