Tame Impala to perform in Portland

May 24, 2013 by

Music lovers may want to clear a space in their weekend schedule, as the Australian psychedelic rock quintet Tame Impala will be making an appearance in the area.

The Australian band debuted with its first record in 2010, entitled ‘Innerspeaker’. At the time, it received a lukewarm reception, in part due to the contemporary spin it placed on forgotten and dead songs, but the group has since been making waves and creating new sounds. Poster printing, brochure printing, and flyer printing may have helped promote this group to the people of Portland and the surrounding regions.

After Tame Impala finished its 2011 tour, two of the members went on the road with Pond, an offshoot band, while Kevin Parker dived into the black hole to create the second album, which was called ‘Lonerism’. It was released last year, and the group has been going strong ever since. Fans who turn out to see the performance in Portland can expect to hear plenty of material from that album, including the singles ‘Elephant’ and ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’, both of which were released last year.

The cost is $22 per person. Tame Impala will be performing on Sunday, May 26, beginning at 9:00 pm at the Crystal Ballroom located at 1332 W Burnside Street in Portland, Oregon, just a short drive from Longview, Washington. To learn more about the group or to purchase tickets, please visit the Crystal Ballroom website or call the box office.
