Longview all set to ‘Go Fourth’

The ‘Go Fourth Festival and Parade’ is a celebration of Independence Day and will allow people in the greater Cowlitz County the opportunity to go out and enjoy a family fun day with plenty of entertainment and activities.

Organized by the Go Fourth Association and operated each year by many volunteers, it is likely that poster printing, banner printing, and flyer printing were among the methods used to promote this festive event to people in this community and surrounding communities.

This annual festival, which has been running now since the 1960s, features a sanctioned Timbersport challenge by the American Lumberman Association and includes three world class championship events. There is continuous daily and live entertainment, craft booths and vendors, food booths, arts, and the annual parade. Attracting more than 30,000 visitors each year, there is a children’s area to keep the little ones occupied as well.

The parade is one of the highlights of this festival, with its array of floats and bands. The other main highlight is the lighting of the annual fireworks display that brightens the night sky. This is a self-funded festival with donations gladly being accepted, although admission itself is free.

The Go Fourth Festival and Parade will be happening on Thursday, July 4, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, starting with the parade at Lake Sacajawea Park located at 1311 14th Avenue in Longview, Washington.
