Tree-mendous fun to be had in Issaquah this weekend

This weekend’s ‘Arbor Day – Earth Day Celebration’ offers members of this community the opportunity to volunteer some time and help beautify their community, as well as take the time to visit the farmers’ market, which is just opening for the season at the Pickering Barn.

With spring quickly approaching, now is a good time for outdoor event organizers to employ methods like poster printing to let community members how they can contribute to their environment. For this event, locals are invited to come out and help plant trees around the Pickering Trail and the Issaquah Creek as a way to celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day.

Guests are invited to check in on the morning of the event at the Pickering Trail entrance information booth. The Seattle Tilth, the Cascade Bicycle Club, the Master Gardens, and the Issaquah Garden Club have already signed up to participate in this planting event. After the planting, guests are invited to check out the farmers’ market, which is planning an Earth Day celebration as well.

There is no cost associated with this event and everyone is encouraged to come out and volunteer some time. The celebration is taking place tomorrow, April 20, starting at 9:00 am at the Pickering Trail in Issaquah, Washington. The actual planting of the trees will not commence until 11:00 am. To learn more, or to register as a volunteer, please visit the Pickering Trails website or call the office at 425-837-3300.
