Everett to develop new scenic hotel

The Port of Everett will begin development on a new waterfront hotel.

The Port Commission signed an agreement with Waterplace, LLC and Columbia Hospitality, and the hotel will have 142 rooms with a location in Fisherman’s Wharf.

The hotel is described as an upscale luxury property, and is the first of its kind in the state boasting many special features. The amenities offered are a conference center, restaurant, lounge, indoor swimming pool, business center for business travelers, and retail stores.

The venue is expected to transform the downtown waterfront and attract more visitors to the area. Its goal is to attract local residents, tourists, and businesses.

Columbia Hospitality has revitalized many waterfront communities that rely on tourism. This hotel will create a year-round tourism destination expanding the market immensely, with construction beginning in 2018.

The company will operate the hotel under a 50-year land lease with options. It owns and operate 35 resorts and hotels in the West.

The hotel is one of the major plans for a renovation of the Port of Everett. Development will be a mixture of retail shops, business offices, and commercial properties, and the Port is spending $12bn to redevelop Senior Drive and 14th street roadways.

Two apartment buildings have recently been added to the list. They will be built by American Classic Homes, with apartments expected to open about the same time.

Everett has a large tourism trade and many professional printing services. These companies can help local and business travelers with brochure printing and other services.
