Everett exposition gets Wise with art

July 16, 2012 by

From now until Sunday, July 29, an exhibition of ‘Josey Wise – Art Advocate of the Year’ will be taking place at the Schak Art Center, based in Everett, Washington. This display will be viewed in the Main Gallery during the regular business hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.

This is the second annual Art Advocate of the Year award and the recipient is an Everett business owner and artist, Josey Wise. This award was added to the Schack Art Center in 2011, which recognizes a community leader who is involved with mentoring, art education, and is enthusiastic about visual arts.
Josey Wise is originally from Montana and enjoys incorporating nature’s color and beauty into her artistic creations. She prefers to work in oils and generally has a bright palette, using long and expressive brush strokes. Some of her works border on the side of abstracts, although her favorite subject is landscapes. Occasionally, she paints still life and wildlife using her same contemporary flair.
Josey obtained the City of Everett’s first “Young Artists in the Community” award this year and joined the City of Everett Art Commission in 2011. She relocated to the Pacific Northwest at 18 and has remained there with her husband, with whom she owns WiseDesignz; a gallery and framing shop in Everett’s Historic Downtown district. She participates regularly in the community of Everett’s Art Walk.

Brochure printing and postcard printing may have been used to promote this young artist’s exhibition. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. For more information, please visit the Schack Art Center’s website.
