Comedic stage show to be second to nun

August 9, 2012 by

Starting tomorrow, August 10, ‘Nunsense’ will be presented by RogueTheatrics at the Historic Everett Theatre located at 2911 Colby Avenue in Everett, Washington. The performances will be held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday both this weekend and next, with Friday and Saturday performances at held at 7:00 pm and Sunday’s matinee performances commencing at 2:00 pm.

Nunsense began as a book and musical play in New York City. The book, play, and lyrics were written by Dan Goggin. After its initial run, it spun into an off-Broadway smash, featuring more than 3,500 performances and winning four outer critic awards.

In this adaptation, the Sisters of Hoboken return from Paris after a 100-meter dash to find that their sweet and cherished cook, Sister Julia, has killed another 52 of her sisters through her experimental and suspicious cooking techniques, leaving the remaining sisters to come up with enough funds to bury them all. Only having enough funds to bury 48 of them, the sisters decide to put on a variety showcase to raise the additional funds needed. It would seem that desperate times cause for desperate measures for these ladies in this outrageous, yet very funny, performance.

Brochure printing and poster printing may have been used to advertise this play to the residents and surrounding communities. Tickets can be booked online at a cost og $19.50 for adults and $16.50 for seniors, students, and military, in which case I.D. must be presented. Group rates are also available.
