A new branch of School of Rock has opened in Bellevue – the second in the Washington area.

The new music school joins the Seattle branch, which has been a success, along with more than 90 other schools at locations around the U.S.. This month will see the opening of the 100th School of Rock in Texas.

Kris Kierulff, the manager of the Seattle School of Rock, will be responsible for the new school in Bellevue. He is happy to be able to take some of the existing team at Seattle with him to the new location, while being able to hire new instructors. The existing team at Seattle proved to the company that another School of Rock in the area would be successful, especially as the company is looking to expand across the US.

Kierulff has loved live music all his life, designing a degree in college that focused on artistic expression to empower youths. His previous jobs include working as a tour manager and a booking agent. He was offered the job as the manager of the Seattle School of Rock five years ago and has not looked back since. Some of the parents of the kids at the Seattle school have relocated them to Bellevue, pleased to be able to attend a school which is closer to home.

Students at the School of Rock have played shows in various locations, often utilizing the local poster printing services to promote the shows. Michael Shrieve, a member of Santana, attended the grand opening in November to hold a drum clinic.
