Allergy awareness to be raised through local walk

August 23, 2013 by

The Food Allergy Awareness Fundraiser and Walk presents an opportunity for families that have people with food allergies to learn more about how they can live healthy and normal lives in spite of their allergies. Taking place this weekend, it is likely that poster printing will be among the methods used to promote the awareness of this event to people in this community and nearby ones.

Local families are invited to attend to learn about how to live safely where food allergies are concerned. There will be all types of literature available about allergies and the safe handling of food. The walk itself is family friendly and is taking place in various communities across the United States, with the proceeds to benefit allergy research, awareness, advocacy, and education.

Part of the special day in Wilsonville includes a number of other activities that will no doubt be fun for the entire family. Walkers can register as individuals or as part of team. The walk will take place rain or shine, so participants are reminded to dress appropriately and bring sunglasses and good walking shoes. There is a walk ceremony slated for 10:00 am prior to the two-mile walk.

There is no charge to take part in the walk, although registration is required, and it will take place on Saturday, August 24, beginning with registration at 9:00 am at the Memorial Park located at 8100 SW Wilsonville Road in Wilsonville, Oregon.
