Portland women to get on their bikes

March 20, 2014 by

Today in Portland, a ‘Women Biking for Change’ event is offering a lunch and learn session, which will focus on the National Women’s Bicycling Forum taking place this year and will also celebrate Women’s History Month.

Banner and flyer printing may have been used to promote this healthy educational event to people in the community, and encourage more people to take up cycling for the benefit of their fitness and enjoyment.

During this event, people will have the opportunity to see things from two perspectives. Women from across the country will learn about new developments with new leaders, gain inspiration, and learn to network with others. The aim of this event is to entice other women to join this movement and get more women riding bikes.

The presenters for this forum include Elizabeth Williams, who is part of the League of American Bicyclists’ Equity Advisory Council and a bike advocate. She is joined by Janis McDonald, an employee from PBOT’s Active Transportation Division who organizes the Women on Wheels Cyclofemme PDX.

All this will be happening today, March 20, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the City Hall located at 1221 SW 4th Avenue, second floor – Lovejoy Room, in Portland, Oregon. This community event is open to all women. To learn more or register, please visit the Bicycle Lunch and Learn website.
