Britt Pavilion about to get Ziggy with it

June 28, 2013 by

This weekend, local music fans will be given the opportunity to listen to an entertainer who rose up from Trenchtown, Jamaica through impressive songwriting, instrumental abilities, and an electrifying presence.

Ziggy Marley is the oldest son of the iconic Bob Marley, and began his musical career playing alongside his father and siblings in 1979 as part of Children Playing in the Streets. After that, his siblings became renowned as the group, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. They released their very first album in 1985, called ‘Play the Game Right’, through EMI Records and then released another, ‘Hey World’, in 1986. A little while later they released ‘The Time has Come’, which was the best of Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers.

In 1988, the group moved to Virgin Records, where it recorded ‘Conscious Party’ and won a Grammy. Since that time, this group has become renowned around the world and has been the subject of plenty of poster and catalog printing aimed at adoring fans. Patrons attending this event will also meet a special guest, which has yet to be announced. No outside alcohol will be permitted at this concert, although beer and wine may be purchased at the event.

Tickets for this concert range between $22 and $46 per person depending on seating selected. Ziggy Marley will be appearing tomorrow, June 29, starting at 7:30 pm at the Britt Pavilion located at 350 First Street in Jacksonville, Oregon, approximately 15 minutes from Medford.
