From now until Sunday, June 24, Expressions West 2012 Exhibition will be on display at Coos Art Museum located at 235 Anderson Avenue in Coos Bay, Oregon. The Expressions West 2012 Exhibition can be viewed during regular museum hours.

Expressions West is a juried art painting competition with artists from thirteen different states exhibiting their work. This show was juried by the renowned Douglas Russell, who selected 64 artworks from 48 different artists. In total, 355 artworks were submitted to this competition.

Prizes were awarded at the gala opening with first place receiving $1000, second place receiving $750, and third place receiving $250. There were a number of honourable mentions during the opening as well. 23 of the artists accepted into this exhibition are based in Oregon, with a number of Californian artists also featuring in the Expressions West showcase. Work from representatives of Washington, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and Idaho will also be among the exhibited pieces. A lot of the artists themselves are expected to be present and will no doubt welcome comments and questions on their displays.

Guests will enjoy this diverse collection of watercolors, acrylics, oils, and mixed mediums in realism, surrealism, contemporary, and abstract formats. The Expressions West showcase also features a. This large showcase features a well-rounded view of the art world today.
