Event to help get kids in the mood for Halloween

September 23, 2017 by

The Haunted Trail Adventure is taking place in Lakewood early next month.

It is set to feature ghostly trails and tables filled with scary items, and guests can walk the Owl Trail to see many of the creatures who only come out at night. Costumes are heavily encouraged for participants.

There will be carnival games, live owls and other birds with the Wild Wings Environmental Education organization, and an appearance by Mr. Bones – a life-sized dinosaur skeleton who walks around the site.

Food and drink will be for sale and proceeds will benefit the new nature play area being developed by Lakewood Kiwanis. Hot chocolate and marshmallows will also be available at the amphitheater.

Guests can also purchase their Halloween pumpkins from the Friends of PAHA’s Pumpkin Patch. Proceeds will go to help provide scholarships to Camp PAHA. The camp provides a seven-week summer getaway for children with disabilities between the ages of 6 and 17.

Lakewood printing companies are frequently asked to help advertise events like this in the community. This may include providing posters and postcards that can be easily distributed.

The Haunted Trail Adventure will be held at Bear Creek Lake Park on October 14 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Admission is $5 or free for children aged three and under. Call 303-698-6159 to learn more about this event.
