Program seeks public support for basket auction

Broomfield’s Meals on Wheels program provides nutritious food to seniors, people who are experiencing medical issues, and others in the community who can make use of its services, and it is seeking the public’s support for its Basket Auction fundraiser.

The public will have an opportunity to bid on an assortment of baskets that are filled with donations from local businesses, organizations, and individuals. The organizers have planned for it to be a fun event for all, and in addition to the basket auction, there will be live music, local craft beer to sample, barbeque and picnic style food to enjoy, and a kids’ craft area.

Those who are planning the event are hoping that the area’s business community will once again be generous in their support of this fundraiser and the Meals on Wheels program. They are seeking donations from local companies and individuals that would be willing to donate a basket to the day’s efforts. A company can have branded ad specialties prepared to be used during a fundraiser such as this.

The event has been planned for July 22 in the Broomfield Community Center. It will run from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, and further details and information for anyone who would like to make a contribution have been made available on the City and County of Broomfield website.
