Wauwatosa set to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with annual run

January 30, 2018 by

Wauwatosa runners and walkers have been invited to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by taking part in an annual event that will both start and finish in Hart Park.

The Lucky Leprechaun 7K, which is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am, will open with a pre-race party that will include tunes supplied by DJ Sinclair. It is open to all ages, and will follow a route that winds its way through the community. The participants can choose to register to run or walk, and all ages are welcome.

Once the race is over, the fun will keep right on going with a celebration at Leff’s Lucky Town. Free coffee and hot chocolate will be served, and each person over 21 who comes out will receive two free Miller Lites. Live music will keep the crowd entertained, and the whole event has been planned as a festive occasion.

The proceeds from the day will be donated to the MACC, which works to support research into finding a cure for childhood cancers. The organizers noted that, so far, the Lucky Leprechaun has been able to raise over $25,000 for this charity, and they hope this year will be just as much of a success as it has been in the past. Banners, race bibs, and other items for this type of function can be provided by an area printer.

This occasion, which will combine fun with fundraising, will be held on March 17. More information and an opportunity to register can be found on its website.
