Wauwatosa race to support local students

February 10, 2017 by

The Education Foundation of Wauwatosa (EFW) will be hosting a fundraiser, and it is hoping that as many members of the community as possible will come out to show their support.

The EFW has organized its Walk/Run 2017 in support of its educational initiatives that help local students. Participants can choose between the one-mile walk or one-mile run, and there will also be a scavenger hunt through the grounds of the Milwaukee County Zoo, which is where the event will be held.

As a way of saying thank you to those who have lent the group a helping hand, there will be free post-race snacks and coffee, a raffle, games, awards and prize drawings. The registration fee will include entry to the zoo for the day, as well as parking and a free T-shirt, which was created through the graphic design skills of a Tosa high student.

The organizers of the event are looking for sponsors from the area’s business community. Several different options have been made available for doing so, and those who are interested are asked to submit their completed registration form, logo and payment by no later than February 17 if they wish to have their name and brand included in the race’s promotional materials.

The race itself will be held on May 6. Additional information, as well as a link for those who wish to sponsor the activity, can be found on its website.
