Wauwatosa Historical Society to hold Blarney Run fundraiser

January 16, 2017 by

The Wauwatosa Historical Society will once again be hosting its annual Blarney Run, and its organizers are hoping the community will continue to be very generous in its support.

The event, which serves as a fundraiser for the society to help it continue to provide historical education and preservation of the area’s past, is open to all, no matter their age. There will be a 5 kilometer run, a 2-mile walk, and for the kids, there’s the quarter mile Twinkle Trot. Those who plan to participate are encouraged to come dressed in green and be ready to have fun.

The first 500 who register will receive a specially designed long sleeve t-shirt, and prizes will be given for the overall female and male winners as well as the top wheel chair finisher and the first three females and males in each age group. The children who run in the Twinkle Trot will each receive a t-shirt and award to thank them for their participation. A printing company can supply everything, from banners to race bibs, t-shirts, registration forms and more that are needed to make an event like this a success.

The Blarney Run/ Walk will take place on March 12th and will begin at the Friends of Hoyt Park and Pool Grand Hall on Swan Blvd. Anyone who would like to register can do so by visiting the event’s website.
