Orchestra to raise funds for European trip

The Philharmonic Orchestra of Vero Beach High School received an exciting invitation to perform in Austria next spring, but must raise money to pay its way.

The orchestra received the invitation as a result of its performance last year in New York City. Vero Beach’s young musicians will be representing Florida from May 25 – June 3, 2017 in the cities of Salzburg, Innsbruck, and Vienna.

Music Celebrations International, which is based in Tempe, Arizona, will be coordinating the trip. The students have already begun fundraising and a pledge of $2,500 from the Cultural Council of Indian River County has got them off to a solid start.

Over the next year, the orchestra will put on a variety of concerts and fundraising events to fund its trip. Ensuring a good turnout for any fundraiser is often dependent on the correct placement as well as the quality of poster printing service that is engaged. Another way student groups raise money is through the sale of calendars promoting their club, team, or musical group.

According to the website for Music Celebrations International, the annual concert series to which the Vero Beach Orchestra has been invited was first held to commemorate Austria’s Millennium in 1996.

Among the venues in which the orchestra may be playing are concert halls, palaces, historic cathedrals, historic outdoor settings, and spa resorts.
