Greeley fundraiser planned in support of railway museum

June 11, 2018 by

Greeley’s Colorado Model Railroad Museum has announced that it will once again be holding its annual Hobo Stew fundraiser, and it promises to be an evening of entertainment and learning for all who participate.

The occasion has been planned around the theme of riding the rails, and will include hobo lore as well as games. The menu for the occasion will be “mulligan stew” served with biscuits and cornbread.

While the guests enjoy the food and friendship, they can take in bluegrass-style tunes, and as a special addition to the agenda, steam locomotive 844 will be rolling in for the evening. The attendees who would like to get a firsthand view of the train are reminded that they should arrive early, as it will be stopping by between 5:15 pm and 5:30 pm.

The festivities will aid in raising funds for the railway museum, and anyone who is interested in trains, history, or who just wants to support the cultural fabric of the community is welcome. Banner printing and other services for this type of function can be provided by a local print company.

The third annual Hobo Stew fundraiser will be taking place on July 21 at 680 10th Street in Greeley. Tickets are being offered to the public for $40 each, and they can be purchased through its online listing.
