Greenville weekend to highlight its artistic side

April 13, 2018 by

A festival that will showcase the handiwork of a large group of Greenville area artisans will be held this spring, and those who come out to browse and buy will be lending a local museum a helping hand.

The Cotton Boll Arts Fest will feature a wide assortment of handmade items, and the planners of the two-day event noted that it will give the public a chance to purchase something unique for themselves or as a gift. The beneficiary of the function will be the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum, and it will use the funds raised to help to build and maintain its exhibits and program offerings along with meeting its other expenses.

Everything from paintings to artisan soaps, pottery, wood working, jewelry, fused glass, and many other works of art will be on display to browse through. The festival will be family friendly, and a special Kids Korner will be set up so the younger guests can make a craft of their very own to take home with them. A printer can use graphic design techniques to produce marketing items for this type of event.

The show will start on Saturday, June 9 at 10:00 an, and it will begin at the same time on Sunday June 10th. The museum, which will be hosting the function, is located at 4309, 600 I-30 Frontage Rd in Greenville. The community’s Chamber of Commerce’s website can be consulted for more information.

Greenville prepares for gala

February 28, 2018 by

Tickets are now on sale for an evening of elegance in Greenville, and residents from the community are invited to be a part of the celebration.

The Emerald Ballroom will be the location for this year’s Blue Star Gala, which is the signature fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Texas. This organization provides supports for young people to help make sure they have a chance to reach their full potential.

This year’s theme is ‘A Night Under the Stars’, and it will feature a meal, entertainment and both live and silent auctions. A Youth of the Year speaker will address the crowd so that they can see how their assistance helps the local community, and there will be other activities added to the agenda as the date for it draws closer.

In an effort to maximize the events impact, the organizers are offering sponsorship opportunities to local businesses. To thank these sponsors for their support, an assortment of benefits has been created for the different levels. Donations of gifts in kind for the silent auction will also be most appreciated. Poster printing can be used to supply those who plan a function like this with decorations and other items to help add to the festive air of the occasion.

This gala affair will be taking place this Saturday, March 3, and anyone who would like to purchase tickets or act as a sponsor can find more information on the event’s website.
