Scottsdale Arts Festival comes to town

The annual Scottsdale Art Festival will be taking place in the middle of March.

Around 170 nationally recognized artists will be exhibiting and selling their works and passing out information flyers and brochures during the three-day event.

This year’s featured artist will be Julia Gilmore. Some of her colorful work can be seen on the Scottsdale Arts Festival website.

Entertainment will be provided by over 35 Arizona bands and performers on the venue’s two stages. Jarrod Spector & Kelli Barrett will begin the festivities the night before the grand opening, and over 250 gourmet food and beverage options will be available for purchase from food trucks.

A Paint and Wine activity station will be located at the LOVE Sculpture. Participants will be painting their own views of the sculpture while enjoying a glass of wine provided by Trinity Oaks.

Day two will offer a two-hour Walking Tour of Scottsdale Public Art in Old Town Scottsdale which will be guided by Donna Isaac, Public Art Director, and Wendy Raisanen, Curator of Collections, and Exhibitions of Scottsdale’s Museum of Contemporary Art. Space is limited to 20 participants, so interested parties need to get their $15 tickets as soon as possible.

Kids are invited to participate in family-friendly art activities in the Community Art Studio. The event will be rain or shine March 10 through 12 at the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Boulevard, Scottsdale. Times will be 10:00 am until 6:00 pm.
