Manhasset workshop to teach infant CPR

February 26, 2017 by

A workshop will be taking pace in Manhasset that will give participants skills they can use to save the life of a child.

The North Shore University Hospital will be hosting an infant Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) class for parents, caregivers, and other adults. It will teach those who take part the techniques they will need to know to be able to perform this lifesaving act on children under the age of one. By following this method, a person can clear airway obstructions and maintain blood flow to the brain and heart of an infant who is experiencing cardiovascular distress, allowing them to survive until medical help arrives.

The course is being offered as a part of the hospital’s efforts to provide continuing healthcare information to the community. It also provides classes in other areas, such as childbirth preparation, baby and childcare, and more. The organizers of an event like this can use printing services like comb binding to craft inexpensive course manuals that can be given to each person who participates.

The training session has been planned for April 25 in Tower Classrooms 4 and 5 of the North Shore University Hospital. It is open to adults only, and additional information, an opportunity to register, and a full listing of its upcoming workshops and courses can be found on the healthcare center’s website.
