Brighton Beach ready for stunning New Year display

December 10, 2016 by

This New Year’s Eve, people from Brighton Beach and the rest of Brooklyn as well, are invited to ring in 2017 and also celebrate the start of Prospect Park’s 150-year anniversary celebrations.

An assortment of fun activities have been planned for the evening, and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams himself will be on hand to join in the festivities. There will be live music, hot chocolate and much more. It offers an option for anyone who would like to celebrate the occasion in a low key but festive style.

The night will be capped off with a huge fireworks display, and viewing areas will be set up at the Park’s West Drive, at the Grand Army Plaza and between 9th Street and the Grand Army Plaza along Prospect Park west. Banners for a celebration such as this can be produced by a printer using materials that will be able to withstand exposure to the cold and other elements.

The activities will take place on December 31st with live music starting at 11:00 pm in the Grand Army Plaza. There is no charge to participate, and hot beverages will be served to the crowd free of charge.

While it is not necessary to register ahead of time, anyone who would like to help the organizers gauge how many people plan on attending can RSVP by visiting the Prospect Park website.
