Pirate-themed fun planned for East Haven area

May 24, 2017 by

A pirate will soon be pulling up anchor and setting sail for the East Haven area, and local families are invited to come and join in a morning of fun.

Milford’s Lisman Landing will be serving up a hearty breakfast of pancakes and sausages, along with coffee, tea juice, and more. Rockin’ Ron the Friendly Pirate will be on hand to provide entertainment for the morning, and will be singing and playing songs from his two albums. Kids will also be able to have their faces painted and Ron will also be available to pose for pirate pictures.

The ticket price for this family friendly breakfast has been set at $15 each, and the organizers have recommended that they be purchased ahead of time, as they will only be sold at the door if any are still available. It is being brought to the community courtesy of Downtown Milford Businesses, and a local print company will be able to supply everything from themed decorations to banners, registration forms, and more that are needed to make an event like this a big success.

This pirate-themed breakfast has been planned for Milford’s Lisman Landing on June 11 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. More information, as well as an opportunity to reserve tickets and find out about the other activities being held as part of the community’s Pirate Weekend, can be found on its EventBU website.

The organization will be hosting this year’s Anginette Wars, which will see cookies and other baked goods, as well as the table displays set up by the competitors, judged in an assortment of categories. Contestants can enter their creations to win Most Decorative Cookie, Best Tasting Cookie, and Most Creative Table Display.

Special guests will be engaged to judge the competition, and the public is invited to come out and cheer on their favorites. Appetizers will be served, and there will also be a raffle drawing for prizes, including two tickets to see the Yankees play. Guests will also be able to sample the cookies and vote for which ones they feel are the best. Graphic design can be utilized to craft certificates and other awards for the winners of an event such as this.

Tickets to attend as a spectator are $15 each. Monies raised through the event will be used to help support the Rotary Club in its community service efforts, such as its scholarship initiatives for local students, clothing drives, Thanksgiving Dinner delivery, and other programs.
