Attorney honored by Ohio State Newark

October 26, 2018 by

The Ohio State University at Newark presented its Distinguished Alumni Award recently to Katheryn M. Lloyd, an attorney. She received the honor at the 2018 Alumni and Student Homecoming Celebration Dinner on the campus in Newark, according to an article on the university’s website.

According to William L. MacDonald, the Dean/Director:

“[Lloyd] lives up to the Ohio State motto of education for citizenship in both her person and professional life.”

She graduated from Granville High School in Granville, then went on to study at Ohio State Newark, and The Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts. She obtained her Juris Doctor from The School of Law at Duke University.

Since she had to finance her own education, Lloyd settled on Ohio State Newark, because the university allowed her to follow her specific plan, it was affordable, and she would be close to home and the family business.

During her time at the university, Lloyd distinguished herself, serving as a student representative on the university’s advisory board; and eventually graduated summa cum laude, with majors in English and French.

The award is presented annually to an Ohio State Newark graduate who attended the school for at least three quarters or two semesters, who has become a distinguished contributor to their field, and who strives to make a different in others’ lives. Organizers of events like this can work with a banner printing company to create decorations for the venue.
