Carlsbad beer lovers invited to sample some local offerings

San Diego County is home to a diverse group of craft brewers, and a Carlsbad event will showcase their creativity to the world.

This will be the fifth year for the Annual Carlsbad Brewfest , which has become an annual event. It will feature beers, ales, ciders and also kombuchas (fermented tea drinks), and more than 33 companies will be participating.

Along with the refreshments, there will be food vendors on site, and the attendees can choose from gourmet hot dogs, pizza, tacos, barbeque and other fare. DJ Rob will provide the entertainment for the occasion, and there will be dancing, games, and other fun as well.

Both regular and designated driver tickets are available for the event, and there is also an option for anyone who would like to make a donation but cannot attend the festivities in person. The funds raised through this event, which has been organized by the Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary Club, will be used to help homeless people in the local area and also Scholarships for Teens and Marines. It is open to anyone age 21 and over, and an area banner printing enterprise will be able to supply decorations and other items for an occasion like this.

The 5th Annual Carlsbad Brewfest will be held on September 8 in Holiday Park. Further details can be found on its online event listing.
