Virginia Beach competition to celebrate artistry in sand

July 8, 2017 by

Though the warm days of summer may have come and gone, the excitement in Virginia Beach will still be going strong early this fall when it welcomes the International Sand Sculpting Competition to its dunes.

The event, which its organizers claim is bigger and better than ever before, is open to people of all ages. It has been extended to 10 days in length, and expanded viewing areas and hours are a part of the enhancements. Sculptors will be coming in to the city from all over the world to participate, and the prize purse is significant. Amateur and school categories will also be a part of the competition.

The artistry will take place in a huge tent set up specially for the occasion. There will be 22 pieces of art being created, and there will be extra lighting so that the work can go on into the evening hours. It will take place rain or shine, and there will also be live entertainment and a chance to meet the sculptors in person. A local printer can supply a contest such as this with an assortment of branded promotional products.

This annual competition will be back to the city as part of its Neptune Festival, which will run from September 29 until October 8. Anyone who would like to find out more can do so on the festival’s website.

Spring festival blossoms in Virginia Beach

March 8, 2017 by

In Virginia Beach, a sure sign of spring is its cherry blossoms, and it will be celebrating the season by hosting its annual Cherry Blossom Festival.

The community will be partnering with Miyazaki in Japan, which is its sister city, to welcome the new season. The event celebrates the spirit of goodwill that exists between the cities, and is also a call for peace and understanding throughout the world. There will be a celebration of Japanese culture, which will highlight art, music, dance, and martial arts.

There will also be vendors selling themed items, and the whole festival is being offered to the public free of charge. A printer’s logo design department will be able to create customized branding for a function such as this.

Those who plan on coming to the festivities are encouraged to bring along a blanket to relax on while they enjoy the music and other entertainment.

The organizers have issued a call to area groups and businesses that may be interested in acting as a sponsor for the activities. They expect it to be well attended, which will give the sponsors an opportunity to market their products or services to a wide audience.

The festival has been planned for April 1, with a rain date of April 2. It will be held in Red Wing Park, and all are welcome. Additional details are available on its website.
