Reliance Staffing expands to Chester area

March 5, 2018 by

Chester and Richmond job hunters will want to make sure their résumés and business cards are the best they can be, as a major employment agency has just opened up a branch in North Chesterfield.

Reliance Staffing has over 35 years of experience in the temp industry, having opened in Virginia Beach in 1982. Since then, the company has expanded to Chesapeake, Newport News and Suffolk, with the Richmond office having its official launch at the start of last month.

The company currently employs over 900 temporary staff, who are sent out to businesses in need of short-term assistance. A temp job, though not a long-term goal for many, offers an opportunity for struggling jobseekers to gain experience and get their foot in the door at many businesses.

The agency’s website allows job hunters to apply for a specific position or to file their résumé with Reliance for later consideration. For employers, Reliance promises that it can deliver pre-screened talented individuals, with businesses paying less than if they had hired directly. The agency claims to be the largest staffing business in the state, and boasts eight consecutive Best of Staffing awards.

For those in need of a job or not, the company’s expansion to Richmond reflects positively on the state capital’s economy, and should create openings for people in the area looking to find work.
