Upper Marlboro theme park scares up Halloween fun

October 22, 2017 by

Currently underway at Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro are Halloween thrills and chills, with the intent to scare and amuse visitors.

The park has unleashed its Fun Fest with 15 live shows, haunted attractions, and heart-pounding thrills that are best seen in the dark.

There is also a Thrills by Day part of Fun Fest, which is oriented more towards families, and has a festival harvest feel. Offered are family shows, including ‘Monster Stomp’, a trick-or-treat trail, and a dance party. Monsters put on a rock concert in the ‘Creature Feature’ show.

On Saturdays and Sundays between 5:00 and 6:00 pm there are also Halloween costume contests for children. Denise Stokes, spokeswoman of Thrills by Day, said that these activities enable children and their families to enjoy all the Halloween aspects of the park in a less frightful atmosphere.

While the daytime activities open at noon, the nighttime activities begin at 6:00 pm with haunted houses and mazes and all rides being open. All the monsters and ghouls are unleashed to create a more true-to-life Halloween environment.

Fright Fest is open on weekends until October 29, and there will be a special opening next Friday, October 27.

Print companies can be used to print flyers and other materials by parks such as these to make the community aware of any special events and happenings in the community.
