Tomball to become home to new microbrewery

The Fire Ant Brewpub is scheduled to open later this summer in the downtown area of Tomball.

The Brewpub is the result of three years of work by Bruce Kissinger, and his partners Carl and Kurt Hohnhol. However, the journey to the Brewpub began about 10 years ago when Kissinger and the Hohnhols developed brews and held tailgate parties for the Houston Texans.

Ground was broken on the micro-brewery in 2016. Kissinger has been working with contractors but has also done much of the plumbing and refrigeration himself, and also created the outside concrete bar. Much of the interior woodwork was done by Kurt Hohnhol.

Most of the beers that will be served will have a German flavor, but they are also working on a new pilsner, and a blend they call a Mosaic. In the end, they expect to have three seasonal beers and 16 signature ones.

Once the microbrewery has opened, kegs of beer will be kept in a cooler with the beer flowing from the taps. Patrons will be able to sit along the outdoor concrete bar facing Market Street. There will be a balcony on the second floor with tables for drinking and dining.

Various printing services can be used to create flyers and other materials to publicize such microbreweries and their unique features and offerings.
