International visitors make Tomball an important stop

Two of the most well-known model railroad personalities in the world were recently welcomed by representatives at the Tomball Depot to see its railroad depot museum which has recently been refurbished and the new model railroad layouts.

Joerg Hausmann, a master modeler from Bielefeld, Germany using Z-scale railway designs, and Managing Director Tony Ichikawa of Rokuhan Co. LTD, which manufactures toy trains in Japan, visited The Depot while they were in the United States.

They both had the opportunity to run ‘Mister Dave’s Golden~Blackhawk & Central City Model Railroad’. This is a Z-scale layout that shows a ride on the railroad from Colorado’s Rocky Mountains to the New England shoreline. It uses multiple rail lines and has won several awards for its layout.

Next, they went into a nearby caboose that is 50 years old to drive to T&W Model Railway, which is in O-scale and features elements from the history of Tomball, with many iconic buildings throughout the countryside and along Main Street.

Hausmann and Ichikawa commented that these new model railways displays at The Depot in Tomball were a welcome addition to its existing exhibits and among the most innovative layouts that they have seen.

Banner printing companies can be hired to help people learn more about such museums and the international attention they draw throughout the year.
