The Colony plays golf to fight cancer

Residents in The Colony are pulling out their clubs and heading to the green in preparation for the Fore Hope Top Golf Tournament, sponsored by Relay for Life.

The three-hour event brings together golf, breakfast, and a silent auction, all to support cancer research.

Registration includes three hours of play at Top Golf, a closed driving-range style game where players shoot in an indoor setting and try to hit dartboard-sized targets on the ground. Balls are tracked via microchip and then points are awarded for accuracy. Players can choose to join a tournament during the event, which will offer different types of game for participants of all skill levels.

Additionally, players can enjoy a full breakfast buffet in the restaurant section of the Top Golf facility while they are in between games. All participants will also get a goodie bag full of promotional products. A silent auction will also be held, allowing visitors to bid on a number of interesting items.

All proceeds from the registration fees and the silent auction go towards Denton County Relay for Life, a charitable organization that raises money for the American Cancer Society.

The Fore Hope Top Golf Tournament will take place on October 8 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Top Golf Facility, located at 3760 Blair Oaks Dr. Registration is $85 for singles and $500 for a team of six. Anyone interested in more information should visit the website.
