Tacoma to host small business conference

March 30, 2018 by

The South Sound Small Business Summit will be held for the third consecutive year later this spring in Tacoma at the STAR Center.

The mission of the morning Summit will be to support and assist small companies in the Puget Sound area, including Thurston, Pierce, and South King Counties, with educational seminars and networking opportunities, where business cards are often used to help people connect with each other.

The Summit was started in 2015 by Paul Long of Timberland Bank to take place during the same time as National Small Business Week in early May. National Small Business Week was created by the Small Business Association in 1963 after a proclamation by President John F. Kennedy.

Among the experts to speak are executive director of the John Maxwell Team, Greg Towne, and owner of Premier Media Group, Josh Dunn. The regional administrator of the United States Small Business Administration, M. Jeremy Fields; the owner of Plumbing & Drain Co., Brian Harding; and the owner of JML Real Solutions, Jude Larson, are the special guests who have been invited to speak.

A panel of South Sound business leaders will be present during the conference, towards which small business owners will have the opportunity to ask specific questions.

It will be held on Tuesday, May 1, from 8:00 am to noon.
