Tacoma residents invited to take the plunge

It will soon be time to take on a daring challenge in Tacoma, all in support of helping to create affordable housing in Pierce County.

The Habitat Challenge will see people from all over Tacoma rappelling down the side of one of the city’s tallest buildings. Hotel Murano will serve as the location for the event, and the first 76 who register and are able to collect $1,000 in donations will be able to secure their spot and “go over the edge”. Each person who does so will be wearing industrial quality gear. People can choose to go themselves, or they can also choose to nominate a friend or co-worker, and the popular “toss your boss” will also be back for another year.

Those who would prefer to help in other ways can do so by choosing to serve as a volunteer during the day’s activities. Sponsorships from local businesses and service groups will also be most welcome. Reusable pop up banners can be custom designed and then crafted for use during recurring events such as this

The Habitat Challenge has been planned for September 22 in Tacoma’s Hotel Murano, and registrations are currently being accepted. Those who wish to learn more or to reserve their time to go over the edge can do so on the organizer’s website.
