Studio City to experience an out-of-this-world evening

WordTheater will be taking its audience on a “wild ride through the universe” as it presents ‘In the Cosmos: Where We Come From, Where We Are and Where We Are Going’ this month

A collection of 16 musicians and 14 actors will be presenting information about the universe, dealing with subjects like the Big Bang theory, creationism, and the possibility of alien lifeforms through the teachings of astronomers, mythologists, great poets, scientists, philosophers, astronauts, comics, mythologists, and musicians.

Views will be through the eyes of visionaries such as Copernicus, Einstein, Neil deGRasse Tyson, Elton John, David Bowie, Carl Sagan, Diane Ackerman and Stephen Hawking. Among the cast of actors will be Bellamy Young from Scandal, Red Melamed, Lesley Nicol from Downton Abbey, Chris Bauer from True Blood, Linda Park from Bosch, Darren Criss from Glee, and Bruce Vilanch from Hairspray.

Under the direction of Maestro Antony Parnther, artists such as vocalist Amy Keyes, pianists Starr Parodi and Inna Faliks, Red Mandala, trumpeter Wayne Bergeron, and guitarist Page Hamilton will be performing original music. Other performers will be jazz bassist Ari Giancaterino, pianist Colton Toy, electric violinist Lizzie Ball, and percussionist Pedro Segundo.

This event will be in support of WITS: WordTheater’s school programs.

Studio City stargazers will be marking their calendars for this cosmic event that will be at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, 2580 Cahuenga Blvd E, Los Angeles, on August 26 from 8:00 to 10:00 pm.
