Studio City announces 6th annual Winter Family Festival

November 26, 2016 by

Studio City Residents Association is in the last planning stages of its 6th Annual Winter Family Festival and Festival of Giving. More than 70 tons of snow is on order, with this year’s attendance will expected to surpass last year’s 5,000 mark.

The festival’s ‘A Taste of the Holidays’ will have local restaurants giving free samples of holiday goodies. Some of these eateries will be Pizza Rev, Local Ice, Lemonade, Gangadin, and Chin Chin. A number of Studio City’s businesses and organizations will supervise craft activities. Food trucks will be on hand, and kids can get their pictures taken with Santa. These free photos can be reproduced for this year’s holiday cards.

Guests will get to enjoy live musical entertainment from local bands, choirs, and choruses. The Campbell Hall World Drumming Ensemble and the Studio City Recreation Center’s Guitar Band are likely to be among those performing.

The purpose of the event, other than just having fun, is to collect gently used items and food for local charities. Last year, over 500 items of clothing and over 250 pounds of food were donated. Toys, pet food, and books were also collected

The Winter Family Festival will be on Sunday, December 11, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Beeman Park – SC Recreation Center, 12621 Rye Street here in Studio City.
