New bar and gaming venue comes to St. Ann area

Westport Social, a new and unique concept in bars, recently opened its doors in Westport Plaza in Maryland Heights.

With so much to offer its guests, Westport Social is likely to attract those in nearby St. Ann to take advantage of all its fun and entertainment.

It has three televisions, each 9 by 16 feet in dimension, and offers shuffleboard, ping pong, and foosball. There are also stages where weekend live music will be hosted.

Other games include basketball with four full-sized hoops, darts, bocce ball, and snook ball – a new sport that combines soccer with the British game snooker. Multiple cameras in two private karaoke rooms edit guests’ performances, which are then edited and sent to them by email. There is no charge for the games and sports, except for the karaoke rooms.

President of LHM, which owns Westport Plaza and Westport Social, Steve O’Loughlin, said that Westport Social will have a more sophisticated look, with a more modern décor and feel.

O’Loughlin added that the surrounding area is bustling, so Westport Social plans to serve the lunch crowd, although it is open those 21 years of age and older after 5:00 pm.

Venues like Westport Social might consider using various marketing services to promote the many amenities offered at places like these, and attract a variety of crowds.
