Greenville Health Systems expands its services in Spartanburg

A new surgery center is scheduled to be opened in Spartanburg this month by Greenville Health Systems.

The center, which will be just over 4,100 square feet in size, will be located on John B. White Sr. Blvd. The addition of a six-inch water line was required for fire protection and to serve the surgery center.

The regional chief clinical officer for Greer and Spartanburg of the Greenville Health Systems, Dr. Wendell James, said the new facility will bring greater convenience to patients of the health system who live in Spartanburg County to have surgery done. Adding surgical services addresses a need in the area, in addition to the other services the health system provides, Dr. James continued.

General surgical procedures and gastrointestinal, podiatry, and ophthalmology procedures will be performed at the new center in two operating rooms. In addition, there will be a multi-specialty physician office for those doctors who perform general and gastrointestinal surgery, with enough space for expansion in the future.

Last year, a new location was opened on S. Pine Street in Spartanburg for the health system to open a branch of its Eye Institute.

Greenville Health Systems might want to look into using brochure printing companies to create brochures with more details about the surgical procedures offered, the hours the center is open, and the physicians performing the procedures.
