Snowbirds set to flock to McAllen information session

December 9, 2018 by

Each year, many ‘snowbirds’ make the trek from Canada to the McAllen area to enjoy the warmer weather. Having adequate health insurance for when they are visiting their second home can offer peace of mind, and a workshop will be sharing secrets people can use to make the most from their travel health coverage.

The session will be all about providing helpful information, so those who register can leave their pocketbooks at home. The door prizes will offer a taste of home, as the winner will receive Tim Horton’s coffee, and snacks will be served to the group.

While the participants mingle, they will have a chance to learn about travel health insurance and the pitfalls to avoid when choosing a policy. The discussion will cover topics such as pre-existing conditions, stability periods, the timing for medical approval and also the importance of researching reasons why care may not be covered. The event will wrap up with a review of moneysaving tips for insurance premiums.

An event like this can be of interest to travelers, and a local printer will be able to offer its planners a variety of promotional products to distribute that have a travel theme. These can be printed with the organizer’s name, logo, and contact details.

Donna’s Victoria Palms RV Resort Cactus Club will be offering this event to snowbirds on January 23. There is no registration fee, and anyone who may find it helpful is welcome.
