Warm-hearted comic play on the way to Lewisville

December 13, 2013 by

The Guys on Ice performance is a premier show of a non-holiday epic about fishing in Wisconsin. This comedy of errors is designed to keep guests chuckling throughout the performance and, as with any theater production, poster printing is likely to have been used to advertise this show to people in the community and its surrounding areas.

This story centers on ice fishing and the setting involves two friends who are dancing to keep warm in their freezing fishing hut. During the time in their hut, they share philosophies about football, how to keep their beers away from a man they call Ernie the Moocher, and give each other insight on marriage.

The production includes the songs ‘Fish is de Miracle’ and ‘Ode to a Snowmobile Suit’. Despite the comic elements of the play, it also aims to have a warm and insightful side.

The book and lyrics for this production are by Fred Alley, the music is by James Kaplan, it is directed by Alex Krus, and choreographed by Becca Brown. Guests are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the performance to ensure unused tickets can be sold at the door. Parking is available free, while tickets range between $15 and $25.

Guys on Ice will take place on Saturday, December 21, starting at 8:00 pm at the Greater Lewisville Community Theatre. To learn more about this event, please visit the theater’s website or call the box office during normal hours.
